This post is about the footer of my portfolio, inspired by Forrest Gump.

Released in 1994, directed by Robert Zemeckis, and led by Tom Hanks, it is one of my favorite films. To me, it is a sweet story about someone with a good heart whose kindness seems to come back through friendship, love, and unexpected turns in life.

I also like how naturally it includes references to American history, to the point that it almost feels like things really happened that way.

And the soundtrack? Amazing.

It is one of those films that always moves me and makes me want to stay open to life and new experiences.

"Life is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get." - Forrest Gump

I wanted the end of the portfolio to feel more like me, so I used that scene as the base for the footer. The bench, the chocolate box, and the copy all come from that reference.

I care a lot about endings. The last part of an experience is often what stays with people, so the idea was to make the final section feel warm, a little funny, and still invite the person to engage one last time.

When the user hovers over the box, it opens and reveals a small 'Try your luck' interaction. Clicking it takes the visitor to a random case study they have not read yet.

Design is like a box of chocolates: you never know what you'll find, but if you're lucky, it's a memorable surprise.
