Fitts's Law

Laws of UXUX PsychologyLinkedInDesign Thinking

I read Laws of UX: Using Psychology to Design Better Products & Services because I wanted stronger reasoning behind my design decisions. Since then, it has become one of the references I come back to when I am building something new.

One of the ideas that stayed with me was Fitts's Law.

In simple terms, it says that the smaller and farther away a target is, the harder it is to reach.

That sounds basic, but it changes how I think about buttons, calls to action, and mobile interactions.

A button is not just a shape on a screen. It is an invitation, and that invitation should feel easy to accept.

I like turning what I study into content because it forces me to simplify, apply, and explain. For me, that is when the idea really sticks.

It is also one of the reasons I post on LinkedIn. It is a good space to share how I think, show what supports my decisions, and create meaningful professional connections.

Design is like a box of chocolates: you never know what you'll find, but if you're lucky, it's a memorable surprise.
